One person. A billion dollars.

Three numbers

Eighty million dollars, from one man working on his own. A hundred million in eight months, from a team of forty-five. Two billion, from a few hundred people. Not one of them hired an army.

So what are your two hundred people doing with their hours? Here you will know what those companies did differently, and how to do it in yours.

The premise

One person. No staff. No office. A billion dollar company. For the whole of business history, that sentence was a joke.

The bet

Then in 2023, Sam Altman mentioned that he and his chief executive friends had a betting pool running. Not on artificial general intelligence. On a date. The year the first one would appear. These men relax by gambling on the calendar.

Dario Amodei, who runs Anthropic, was asked the same thing on a stage. He answered in one word. Twenty twenty-six.

It is 2026. Nobody has done it alone. But look at what turned up instead.

What turned up instead

Maor Shlomo built a tool called Base44 by himself, with no investors. In one month, working alone, he made a hundred and eighty-nine thousand dollars in profit. Six months after launch, Wix bought it for eighty million dollars in cash. He had eight employees by then. The whole company would not fill a minibus.

A company in Stockholm called Lovable reached a hundred million dollars of revenue in eight months, with forty-five people. That is two point two million dollars each.

And Cursor went from a hundred million dollars a year to two billion in fourteen months, and never grew past a few hundred people.

None of those is a one-person company, and that is the point. They are small companies with the output of enormous ones. Everybody was waiting for the wrong miracle. This one you can copy.

The Monday question

Which brings back the question from the top, and it is the one that lands on your desk on Monday morning. If forty-five people can build a hundred million dollar business in eight months, what are your two hundred doing with their hours?

Why your pilot died

You have tried, of course. Everybody has. There was the AI demo that got a round of applause, met your real data, and quietly stopped being mentioned. There were the AI copilot licences you bought for everyone, which made the emails sound friendlier.

Here is why none of it changed anything. You automated a task. Nobody has ever automated a task and changed how their company runs.

The whole workflow, end to end

The prize is the whole workflow, end to end. Not the invoice step. The entire run, from the enquiry arriving to the money landing.

No handover by email. No waiting until Tuesday because Priya is on leave. That is where ten people's work comes from. There is nowhere else it comes from.

This is what we do for a living. We design agentic systems that run those workflows end to end, so one person can do ten people's work without working any harder. We build them, we secure them before they meet a customer, and we train your team to own them.

Where to start

So here is where to start, and it costs nothing. Pick one workflow. The one that made somebody sigh this morning. Invoices. Tickets. Onboarding. Order to cash. Give us thirty minutes. We will map it end to end and tell you what can be automated, what it will cost and what it will save.

The one-person billion dollar company is still a bet. The small team doing ten times its own work is not. It already exists, and it is already quoting against somebody. The only question is whether that is you, or the company across the road. Do not wait for them to show you.

Bring us one workflow and we will show you what it looks like running by itself.
